A true vinyl hunter, London born DJ Jimmy James has put in time behind the counter at two of London's infamous record stores, Mr Bongo and Rough Trade Records.
Upon relocating to Melbourne, he founded the iconic Strictly Vinyl party with DJ JNETT, and has since flexed his impeccable taste alongside the likes of Danny Krivit, DJ Spinna, Sadar Bahar, Keb Darge and Kenny Dope, and performed at Freedom Time festival on two occasions. He has held residencies at some of Melbourne’s most integral institutions, and worked in many cities across Europe and the USA.
His vast knowledge and experience have made him one of Melbourne’s finest tastemakers. Ever the journeyman, Jimmy James’ sets are nothing if not eclectic – think boogie, soul, disco, house, jazz funk and beyond.
