UMUT

Hailing from Turkey, Umut has called both the UK and Australia home. Throughout his global travels he has worked behind the scenes with countless labels and artists, and all while playing at parties in Istanbul, London and his current home, Melbourne.

His hunger for unheard music has seen him dig deep in record stores across the world. The obscure music he uncovers traverses ambient, new age and oddball disco, enchanting tropical or timeless electro cuts - and electrifies the dancefloor.

Umut’s affinity for the wonderfully obscure shone through on his recent appearances for Red Light Radio and Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM. Meanwhile his versatile taste has been on regular display alongside the likes of Tako, Jamie Tiller, Nick The Record, Project Pablo, Rahaan, Peanut Butter Wolf, Esa and Ata Kak to name a few.

In collaboration with Left Ear Records, Umut put together the Antipodean Anomalies compilation, a collection of curious and compelling music from 70s & 80s Australia and New Zealand.
